Last week was probably one of the funnest weeks of my life (literally). I was out of school for a whole week at a program called career-x. Me and three other people from our class got to experience it. It gave us a good chance to explore more of the careers that are out there and think about what we wanna get into, also to work with different people and make new friends. Paige, Dustin, Tyler and I had so much fun out there we made plenty of new friends that were hard to leave. We were just getting to know people when we found out how short of time we had left.  I’ll definately never regret going there it was an awesome experience and a big thanks to the school that could make it happen for us!

We learnt lots of new things and how some careers work, this taught me a lot and sent a big message to me.

The best part was getting to know knew people and making tons of friends.  Friends are always the people you can rely on and trust:)

When you hear the word Truth, what first pops into your mind. Someone who’s caught lieing and has to face telling the truth? Someone actually explaining the truth? Or just a definition of the word.  When I hear the word truth, I usually think of someone sitting in a jail, in a room telling there side or a murder scene or actually try to say they are the suspect.

What does truth mean to you? 

To tell the truth it does take a lot of courage because It’s sometimes hard, but I personally think It’s way better than being caught lieing or telling people  a bunch of lies.

Truth is used in many ways.  Its used in Relationships, Friendships, and even giving someone directions to somewhere, your not gonna lie to them you wanna try to help them out.  Since there lost already you would hate for them to get more lost.  In a relationship you gotta be honest to your partner.  Lieing to them leads to a dead relationship and things like that Isn’t always easy getting over.

Also in every friendship Truth and Honesty is needed.  Those are two important things in a friendship if that Isn’t in a friendship then you won’t end up with much friend or the other person that you were friends with won’t have much.

My guess Is that truth if probably one of the best qualities that is important to me.  Being honest with someone and truthful is always the key to a good friendship without that you basically don’t have a true friendship.  You have to be true to yourself and your friends and even your loved one without truth in the world people wouldn’t get anywhere.

When your a child you need love, attention, play time, food and toys.  You get all that from your parents, you grow up leave the house more, make new friends people you met at school or in/around your neighborhood.  Your feelings for them change, and the way they treat you changes to, you get older and the stuff they give you is more, things like money, new clothing, more freedom.  They worry a lot more and are stressed out, when your young you wouldn’t fight with them about curfew, or grounding that all comes around teenage years from about age 11-maybe 15 around there. 

The age that most of us are at, about 14, is probably the worst age ever, your not aloud to stay out as late as you want, your to young for the adult stuff but still to old for the kid stuff at the same time, I find this age really hard you run into lots of problems, fight more with your parents.   We all grow to be an adult some don’t they’ll always be childish, It’s because they weren’t taught, Which is what I need from my parents to be taught so when comes the day I can live on my own, raise my own children, own my own house, and the thing I absolutely want to do is go to college.  I want to experience how much fun it is, well it probably isn’t but I know it will be hard, and to work in life or have a really good job you got to work hard.  My parents always talk about the day I graduate they’ll pay for me to go to college, and if they do that I have to shown them that i’m worth it.

Already I want to leave the house and my dad basically told me i’m stuck living there until I graduate.  Which is kinda good I guess because when I graduate I’ll thank my dad for pushing me through school!

My parents are great by when I’m upset there, their for me, they ask wanna talk about it.  They care what goes on in my life and care about how I feel.  If there’s a problem they try and fix it they don’t get mad.  If i’m not understanding something they’ll put it in words that maybe I will.  There great parents and I love them so much.

Finding the research for this was actually easier than I thought There was quite a bit Information that i found on lots of site, basically just typed it in on google and found some pretty good sites.

One thing I learned about research was how you can Put RSS feedback or something you can get feedback or subscribe to a blog or page, and find out any new research, thats one thing I did not know before, and I knew the basic stuff, of online predators but not anything like they would actually come to this girl or guys house and actually expect to get something out of it is what really makes me think, like when these guys or girls here the teen that there talking to hearing there age right there would gross me out, knowing maybe your between the ages of 40-60 and talking to a 15 year-old lets say, thats pretty gross, that they don’t care about the ages. 

I found lots of research through not only websites but some through videos, and mostly the videos were just about kids and online predators obviously, but it showed me the effects of how the teens reacted to that, like that girl with the seven other school, girls like shes said, she won’t be able to believe anyone that tells her that they love her, because like she said it happened once and why can’t it happen again.  I really liked working on this presentation and finding stuff out about this because its always good to know effects on what some stuff is whether its good or bad.

My project is about online predators.

 Some of the questions are What I learned? How can it be stopped? What are they doing to stop it?

I found this project to be very interesting and learning about the effects of interenet dating, cyberbullying, and sexual predators.  Most of the stuff I found was pretty disgusting, for example, how these predators are mostly in the ages of about, 20-60 years old usually, and your age could be, well in your teens somewhere so maybe you could be 15 and you think your talking to another 15 year-0ld, but really this person could be 60, which I found most disgusting.  What I learned was that myspace is the most common used site for online predators and that lots of hackers go on.  The thing that I most learned was that the internet is definately not a safe place, well basically I always knew that, but you never think of it, you just say “Oh these people will never take the time to try and talk to me” but they will don’t ever think it can’t happen.  Finding out how big its getting is kind of scary to know that these people will do anything to get with someone so young. and basically for solutions is that hopefully that people are smart enough to not meet anyone on the internet and think that the internet is not the safest place to post aything of your personal information about yourself.  On youtube I found many distubring videos, and heres one that is extremely sad, and to think that girls would do this to another.  cyberbullying.

If you watched that video you’ll know what I mean some people out there are so sick, well atleast she didn’t meet him but she was about to, and It’s pretty sad, she fell head over heels for this basically she didn’t know, she knew for what he wrote or what they wrote and said to her on the internet, but not from experiance by meeting him.

Hopefully from anyone reading this is smart enough to not fall inlove with anyone over the internet, from all the effects it has, because you really don’t know who they are. And its really scary to think of the fact they would come and see you.  Just the fact of there age freaks me out.

Culture; has so many different meanings for example you may believe It to be one thing while I believe that It’s something else.  Culture can be what kinda clothes you wear,  how you live your life, the kinda food you eat, or your actions.  Culture is definately something to be proud of.  Don’t ever be ashamed of your culture.  It’s used in everything you do.  An example lots of people from India you see they have there noses peirced and thats all apart of there culture.

My family culture Is… Honestly to say the truth I don’t know. It’s harder then you think to actually stop and think about your culture since It’s the first time I actually ever thought about It.  Any traditions either, mostly I have lots of get togethers with family on occasions but I’m sure lots of other families do that, so I could recommend that a kind of tradition.

So the whole reason we are supposed to write these paragraphs are to answer one question which is Can it be boxed?      In my opinion I don’t think it can in my culture.  Well if your culture had a lot to do with clothing or food then it would be easy but for mine, since I don’t exactly know what kinda culture I am,  I couldn’t say I would know what to put if it could be boxed.

Having success to me means being happy.

Reaching goals in your life and achieving the things that you want.

Having a successful life is to have the things that make you happy, and being around the things that make you happy.

If your stuck with a job that you don’t like then I obviously think your not happy and not successful to the fact that your stuck with this job because maybe you just moved to a new town or city and you need the money just to get by, or your a high school graduate and your stuck living your parents dream, what they dreamed for you to be your whole life, but not what you wanna do.

When I think success the person I think of is my brother Daryl. He has lots of things, owns his own house, and is happy. He’s worked for alot and he got alot. He’s got a really good job and his happy where he is. He has a great girlfriend which sadly doesn’t get to see alot, but talk lots thoughout the day when they can, and he seems very happy to be with her!

I do think having success is everything. You got everything you ever dreamed of, your happy with what you got. But thats just my opinion, whats yours?

Well I’m sitting here in this room, with not a thought in my head.  I have no clue what to write about and our assignment is to write about anything.  Anything thats coming up, spring break, what’s going on in our life, and I mostly told all of those things, like how my sister is getting married, what I’m doing for spring break, and some updates in my life.  I’m stuck here with an empty mind.  I’m mostly thinking of everything that I’ve written so far on my blog, and nothing new is really happening.

Mr. fisher wants us to atleast write in here every 2 or 3 days and its hard living in a small town and nothing really interesting happens in except every decade or so. 

Well I could tell you how boring and plain my life is, but I wouldn’t want to bore you. 

Now that i’m sort of emptying my mind a little bit more, I’m thinking a lot about my sisters wedding.  I get to be one of her bridesmaids and I’m kinda scared to, because itss my first wedding ever to be in the bridal party, i’m excited alot for it.  I even get a date!  Actually not all that exciting.  I just wanna have a good time.  Hopefully my family does to.

Shes been going nuts already planning out the theme, picking out the cake, finding colours for the dresses, finding a wedding dress for herself, and the wedding isn’t gonna be for another two years or so, but I guess its always good to be on time, instead of rushing the last year.  Two years will fly by really quick.  So I actually agree that she probably doesn’t want to be rushing next year to get things picked out.

I’m actually really happy and excited for her, because she is the type of person who has really good ideas and an amazing taste for colour, and a good eye for which kinda cake would like right, and shes someone who likes to be different and have different themes, or not just a plain white dress, she likes to have colour, so it doesn’t look plain looking and I love doing things with her because shes so fun to be around, and she has good advice.  The only thing is shes quite a bit older than me, but we still have fun.  I love talking to her to, shes so much easier to talk to then my mom because shes been through a lot of stuff, and she always knows what to tell me. 

Well I can see I thought wrong, I did have lots to say.

At the end of this month is spring break.   I’m going to Alberta for the entire week.  The week before that I’m going to Winnipeg.  I have a pretty fun holiday planned out.

We’re travelling to Alberta because that is where my brother lives.  I’ll also get to go to the West Edmonton Mall.  That will be such a cool experiance because I’ve never been there before, except for when I was just a little girl, but I don’t really remember that. Hopefully everything goes well, and I have a pretty fun time in Winnipeg too.

My brother lives in this town called White Court.  He’s about a couple hours away from Edmonton.  He also has a girlfriend who lives in Edmonton.  She is going to school there.  His girlfriend-Jyotsna is from India which is really cool, because her culture is completely different than ours.  We met her at Christmas time and it was so cool, so when we go down to Alberta we’ll be able to see her again.

For the science fair that I just recently got back from I was partnered with Katie Ventura.  We did what stain remover works the best, just for everyday stains. The stain removiers we used were, shout gel, spray n wash stick, spray n wash DUAL POWER, tide to go, oxi clean and pre-wash (safeway brand). The one that worked the best was Spray n wash dual power, and the one that was the worst was tide to go, absoulotely THE worst one in the world, it doesn’t work at all, from what was shown in commercials heard that it was supposed to be somewhat good, but not at all, oh well at least now we do know what one works the best if we need a stain remover fast!
